Storm & Hail Damage Insurance Claims FAQs

Q.) My insurance company said my roof just needs to be repaired, but I have been told by other roofing companies that it needs to be replaced. What can I do?

A.) Sometimes after a large storm insurance companies will call in extra help for inspecting homes, but often these adjusters lack roofing experience. It is quite possible that your insurance adjuster did not know enough about roofing, to determine if your roof was fixable or totaled, and this is where mistakes are made and their opinion might be only to fix small parts. But if you think that the adjuster is wrong, it would be in your benefit to have an experienced roofer examine your roof and see if your adjuster has overlooked anything. If the roofer does feel differently then you can call the insurance company and schedule a re-inspection. At the re-inspection, one of All States Home Improvement inspectors will be there to walk with the adjuster and stand up for your claim.

Q.) My Insurance Company told me I needed a new roof, but didn’t pay out enough money to complete the project. How can I afford to have it replaced?

A.) You need to find  a contractor that you trust and have your contractor send in his scope of work to the insurance company  for approval prior to starting the work and the insurance company will send the additional funds

Q.) My Insurance Company told me to get 3 different estimates and submit them for my claim. Why?

A.) You do not need to submit 3 different estimates if you already know which contractor you are going to use. The reason your insurance company wants you to submit 3 is that it leaves them a choice to pick the cheapest contractor. However, if you just submit the contractor you want to work with they are obligated to use that contractor.

Q.) I got several different estimates to replace my roof and they were all different. Why not just go with the lowest one?

A.) There are many contractors to choose from and you will see many different prices. You need to know though that some choices are better than others. Often time’s contractors who submit extremely low offers are ones you need to be cautious of. They tend to be companies that are not paying for liability insurance or are brand new. You don’t want to work with a company that does not have insurance, because if something happened then they are not liable, you are! Also when looking at a new companies low offer they may not have the experience a larger roofing company may have. Warranties and the type of roof you are being offered needs to play a big part in the contract you decide. A poorer quality roof with a shorter warranty is not nearly as valuable as a roof that is a little more expensive with great quality and a long warranty. So these are just some of the variables that need to be looked at when deciding on which contractor to go with.

We are pleased with the results of our exterior remodel by All States. They took the time to meet with us and get to know our vision, and how they could help us achieve that vision. In the end, we got a new roof, new windows, new siding, and new gutters. They provided great crews that worked hard and efficiently. We would recommend All States to someone looking to get home improvement projects done efficiently and well, with high quality.

Our new shower is perfect, we love it! The All States crew did an amazing job: they are a master at the craft. Kept us informed every step of the way. It took just one full day to pull out our old tub & transform our shower stall. If you're considering a tub-to-shower conversion, the finished product will look just like the promotional pictures. Thank you All States!

Our experience with All States Home Improvement was awesome! We did a tub-to-walk-in shower conversion. They came out to give us a quote and show us the many options. I appreciated their patience while we decided on exactly what we wanted to buy. Our installers were both rock stars! They showed up on time, were polite, and made sure everything was cleaned up real nice. Thanks All States!
