Question 1: There was a storm last night, how do I know if I have a damaged roof?
A: It really depends on how menacing the storm was. Some shingles can take winds up to 60 MPH and hail up to an inch. You can’t always tell by just missing or damaged shingles. That is why it is always good to have someone do a free estimate to assess if a replacement is needed.
Question 2: There was large hail last night, how do we proceed from here?
A: If you had a recent hailstorm chances are there was some damage done to your roof. Hail impact can be costly and can damage the integrity of your roof. Whatever you do, please do not call an insurance company first! After years of experience, we have learned that insurance companies are businesses that make money and paying claims doesn’t make them money. This means that they might not always want to pay for a whole roof and might get someone to make minor repairs, rather than doing the job properly. A roofing company will make sure you get a fair assessment of the damage and a fair settlement.
Question 3: My neighbors are having their roof replaced by their insurance company, should I be concerned about my roof?
A: Usually if you see other people in your neighborhood or surrounding with roof damage, there is a pretty good chance you do too. We recommend calling a professional roofing company to inspect the damages. All States gives free estimates and inspection for hail-damaged roofs, so give us a call!
Question 4: Will my insurance company be fair and honest with me about the damage?
A: Most insurance companies are honest and will assess your damage fairly, but you can never know for sure without the proper representation. We will come out to your home and give you a free inspection.
Question 5: There was a hailstorm last spring and I suspect I have damage, do I still have time to file a claim?
A: Homeowners typically have 1 year to file a claim on a storm. If it has been a while since the storm don’t hesitate to call All States Home Improvement today.
Question 6: My insurance company has been here once, but said we didn’t have any damage, we feel otherwise, do we have any options?
A: You do have options if your claim was previously denied. First, call us for a free inspection. If we find damage, we will advise you what to do next. Usually, you can have a 2nd look at your roof and if they still feel there is no damage we can go through an arbitration process.
Question 7: Will my insurance rate go up if I file a claim?
A: Not necessarily if they do go up because of a storm event they will have to raise the rates for the whole region. Don’t let this discourage you from filing a claim.
