A Borrowed Typewriter, A Veteran & An Idea!
That’s how it all started for All States Home Improvement. A local Wichita home improvement company that started with a father and son and now employs over 50 team members. In 1992 Cris Keeter returned home from serving with the Marines and together with his dad Jim had an idea to start a family home improvement business. Cris borrowed a typewriter from a friend to write up their first home improvement contract and the company has continued to grow tremendously since then. Back in the early days they took on any home improvement project. Over the last 30+ years, they have honed in their experience to become the leading experts in exteriors – windows, siding, roofing as well as bathroom remodeling, doors, and decks.
The family probably looks familiar from their visibility in the community or even on your television. Various family members are part of the company, including son Tank who has worked his way up from cleanup crew to installer to project manager. Cris’ wife Kim takes care of the accounting and you’ll recognize their twins Lakin and Taryn from the companies commercials and billboards. As for father Jim, he just celebrated his 83rd birthday and can still be seen around the job site showroom. All States Home Improvement recently built a beautiful new 20,000 square foot building, located off West Kellogg, which doubled their space from their previous location on West Street. The new location offers a spacious warehouse for housing inventory for timely project completion, a beautiful showroom to see options for walk in showers, windows, doors and siding; a live call center for personalized customer contact and even a learning center for team training and free public workshops educating homeowners on home improvement products.
Owner, Cris is passionate about educating consumers on misconceptions and what to look for when deciding to update their home. He recently launched an All States Ask An Expert series in their learning center offering information and answers to homeowner’s questions about their specific home project. Cris is very involved in the day to day work of the company and can often be found in the showroom talking to customers or out at a job site making sure a customer is receiving the five-star service All States is known for.
Cris is adamant he will never allow the company to outgrow quality and customer service, at the end of the day he knows it’s the customers and this community who have helped build his business. His first priority is to always make sure to offer a quality product and to act with integrity, professionalism, fairness and grace, both with his customers and employees.
